Healthy Living Fair a Success!

On Saturday, February 9 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, 26 PCC nursing students held an important community service event. Organized by Karen Walker and Carey Kulp, PCC nursing students offered information on cancer, nutrition, diabetes, heart disease, emergency preparedness and the effects of tobacco. In one activity, student nurses guided participants through a health plan interview. Some of the information was also translated into spanish.

Co-sponsors for the event included PCC Student Nurses' Association, AARP, the National Nursing Network Organization, the Oregon Student Nurses' Association, Tuality Healthcare, and the Washington County Medical Reserve Corps.

NAHN Meeting and National Nurse Presentation

On April 10th, 2008, in building ST, room 107, 5:30-7:30pm, the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) will be meeting on PCC Sylvania campus. Teri Mills and Alisa Schneider will be presenting the ONN Initiative at the meeting.
